Ports and islands
Where do ferries to the Tremiti Islands leave from?+
The main port is Termoli in Molise. Seasonal services run from Vieste, Rodi Garganico, Peschici and Manfredonia on the Gargano. The full comparison is in the arrival guide.
Do ferries land on San Domino or San Nicola?+
It depends on the sailing, and on some services on the day of the week. San Domino is the larger island and holds the accommodation; San Nicola has the historic settlement. Check the island shown on the individual departure.
How many islands are in the archipelago?+
Five: San Domino, San Nicola, Caprara, Cretaccio and Pianosa. Only the first two are inhabited and served by scheduled ferries; the others belong to the marine protected area and have no scheduled landing.
How do I move between the islands?+
San Domino and San Nicola are separated by a stretch of water, so the crossing is by boat only. If your plan includes both, settle the connection with the carrier or your accommodation before you travel.
Are there sailings from Vasto, Ortona or Pescara?+
In the current calendar, sailings run from Termoli and the Gargano ports. Always check your date in the timetable before planning around another port.
Timetables, season and weather
Where do I check current sailings?+
In the timetable: choose the date and port pair to see planned departures, the carrier and the arrival island, including the return leg.
Do the routes run all year?+
No. Termoli covers the widest part of the calendar; the Gargano lines are seasonal and their windows do not line up with each other. Manfredonia has the shortest season.
What if there are no sailings on my date?+
Usually it means that route is seasonal and does not run that day. Try Termoli, which has more departures, or move the date by a day.
Can bad weather cancel a sailing?+
Yes, and the operating carrier decides for each departure. On the day of travel check the carrier notice and your booking confirmation.
Can I visit as a day trip?+
From Termoli often yes in high season. On the seasonal Gargano routes there may be a single return sailing: build the plan from the return, not the outbound.
Tickets and fares
What does the ferry to the Tremiti Islands cost?+
It depends on port, date, carrier, vessel type and the number and ages of passengers. The fares page explains what moves the price and leads to a current quote.
Do I need to book ahead?+
In high season yes, especially for August weekends, for the return leg and for routes with a single daily sailing. Off season there are fewer alternatives but also fewer full sailings.
Where do I change or cancel a booking?+
With the seller named on your confirmation, under the conditions you purchased. The contact page explains who to approach.
Vehicles, luggage and landing
Can I bring a car, motorbike or scooter?+
Between 1 May and 31 October 2026 non-resident motor vehicles may not be landed, subject to the exceptions in the regional bulletin. See the vehicles and parking guide.
Where do I park in Termoli?+
In the port area below the old town, which fills up early in high season. Arrange parking before you travel and allow time to reach the berth named on your ticket.
Can I take a bicycle?+
A bicycle is not a motor vehicle, but carriage depends on the carrier and the vessel. Add it during booking where offered and confirm surcharges and permitted dimensions.
How much luggage can I bring?+
The allowance depends on the carrier. Factor in the last leg too: from both jetties you walk up to the settlement, so weight tells more than the surcharge.
