Choosing your crossing to San Domino

Termoli - San Domino

Termoli is the reference port: the crossing is the shortest in the archipelago and the calendar the widest, with several sailings a day in the peak months. The port is reachable by train on the Adriatic main line, which makes it the natural choice if you are not driving. Terminal, arrival and parking are covered on the Termoli page.

Vieste - San Domino

From Vieste the service runs seasonally and takes roughly twice as long as from Termoli. It makes sense when you are already on the Gargano and want to avoid the transfer into Molise. Check the operating window for your date, the Gargano routes do not run all year.

Which island a sailing calls at

On part of the services the landing island changes with the day of the week, because the same departure serves both San Domino and San Nicola. Do not infer it from the route name: read the island shown on the individual sailing in the timetable and confirm it again on your booking. It is the most expensive mistake to correct after you have landed.

Vehicles and the return leg

San Domino is walkable, and non-resident vehicles are restricted for most of the 2026 season, in practice the car stays in Termoli or Vieste. Book the return together with the outbound leg, especially in late August, and leave slack if a train or flight follows your arrival. The vehicles and parking guide covers where to leave the car.

Getting to the departure port

Almost every trip runs through Termoli. The berth and the carrier are printed on your ticket: check both before you join a queue.

By train

  1. Termoli station

The station sits on the Adriatic main line, a short distance from the port. Still allow time for the transfer and for the carrier's check-in deadline.

  2. From the Gargano

Vieste, Rodi Garganico, Peschici and Manfredonia are not on the Adriatic line. If you are travelling by rail, Termoli is nearly always the simpler choice.

By car

  1. To the port of Termoli

Follow the signs for the port and then the carrier named on your ticket.

  2. Leaving the vehicle on the mainland

Non-resident vehicles are restricted for most of the 2026 season. Arrange parking before you travel using the vehicles and parking guide.
